Reflection
Ever since my sister did her literature play year in 2005, I was very impressed of what she did. When it came to my turn this year, I was very thrilled and wanted to be the director to do as well as my sister. She was definitely my inspiration. However, I was not nominated but put as stage manager in Dahao’s group. I worked with together and was very enjoyable. Just then, Ian came over to our group and got favour from Dahao because of his excellent ideas and contribution. Thus, three of us worked hard and put this play together.
I felt this production was a success. We had costumes and props that were wonderful. The costumes were all made from cloth. We bought the cloth and made from scratch! It was all quite nice except Romeo’s costume which came out not as nice as its original drawing. The props… speechless! The props, such as the trees were all made from boxes, taped together and sprayed. Wire and wrap with special paper made the branches. I felt that the prop made were too good a job done. We actually spent less than $30 dollars for the materials. We actually spent mostly on the cloth.
I will make special thanks to Shaun Tan and Ernest Kok and Ong Kong Ming for being in charge of the props which produced such wonderful structures for the play. I would like to thank Siying and Isabel for doing the makeup and spraying of hair. I actually felt that it was overly done but it was actually not too bad on stage.
I would actually like to name everyone and thank you people but there are too many, and do not want to leave out anyone so I will just say “Thank You” in general. This production was splendid as everyone did his or her part decently. It was so as everyone had a shared vision and a common goal. It was to achieve a good result for literature and to be proud of. This, I felt… is The Unity That My Class, 2A2, Possesses And Will Bring Us Far.
